All courses reviewed in this article have options, which costs less than $99. In fact some of these are much less than $99 and the last one is free.
Did I say free?
Yes! Absolutely free. I have reviewed and compared one free online PMP certification training course alongside the paid courses.

The real rigor will begin only after you buy a course and start the exam prep. You would need self-discipline, sincerity, and hard work to pass the exam.
Note: The courses reviewed & compared in this article are the cheapest 35 contact hours courses available on the Internet today. Out of the 9 courses reviewed in this article, I have recommended a few. These are reasonably priced, have decent quality, and provide good value for the money. But if you are willing to pay a little more, then there are much better courses available. You should read my other article to find out The Best Online Programs For PMP Exam Prep. - Master of Project Academy’s course comes is delivered with 3 access preriods – monthly, annual, and lifetime. I have considered lifetime access for rating the course.
- I have reviewed ProXalt’s courses based on the publicly available information. I sent them a mail to inquire about their courses and requested them for sample study material but they did not respond to my mails.
Rational for Rating
I have not considered the pricing while determining the overall rating. All the courses are cheap and reasonably priced. I have also not considered the refund policy. I believe the courses should be compared on the technical factors like quality & content; pricing should not influence the rating. However, everyone has their own budget. So, you should consider the price and other factors before taking the final decision.
- Technology Aids – I have given a 5 star rating if all the technology aids are present, 4 star rating if the video access requires live Internet connection, and star rating if LMS is not available.
- Study Aids – I have given the rating based on the quantum of study material that is provided as part of the course.
- Study Assistance – I have given a 3.5 star rating if the assistance is provided through email, 3 star rating if the assistance is given by support center, 2 star rating if assistance is very limited, and 0 stars if there is no assistance.
- Access Period – I have given a 4 star rating for 90 days or 3 months access and a 5 star rating for more than 90 days access. I think 90 days is more than enough to prepare, study and pass the exam. I have given a 3 star and 1 star rating for 60 days and 30 days access respectively.
- Content Quality – I have a given the rating based on my review of videos and other study material.
Recommended Cheap Online Training For Getting PMP 35 Contact Hours / PDUs
I do not want to recommend any course just because it is cheap. Rather, I want to recommend something that helps you in passing the exam. It is better to forgo a cheap PMP training, if its quality is questionable. It is futile to save money on the training fee, if a course cannot help you in passing the exam. Failing the exam can prove to be much more costly than spending some extra money upfront on a good training course.
After doing thorough review and evaluation of the listed cheap courses, here is my final recommendation.
Pluralsight is very big in the world of corporate training. Many large companies take its annual subscription for their employees. The courses are designed by experts in their respective fields and they provide excellent quality training material. If you take their subscription, then you get access to all other courses that are part of their portfolio at no extra cost.
I found the Pluralsight’s mobile app and video player to be the best in the above comparison. It provides access to the best quality elearning videos.
Pluralsight provides either 1 month ot 1 year subscription. In my experience, it is very difficul to pass the exam in 1 month so I would suggest you buy its monthly membership and continue it for 2-3 months. It should cost you less than $100.
The annual subscription of this course is slighlty more expensive than the other recommended courses but it is worth investing into. You will get access to all their listed courses under annual single subscription at no extra cost. You can pursue many other project management courses and technology related courses by paying only once. In some countries annual access is avaialable for only $159.
I would recommend you to start with their free trial and evaluate the course yourself.
Linkedin Learning is one of the bigest eLearning brands. In fact, it is bigger than our first choice. You can enrol into their courses without worrying about the quality. Their PMP course is taught by Sandra M Mitchell. She is a veteran in PMP training industry. Linkedin provides video transcripts and hands on learning activities for this course. You can directly interact with the course instructor and seek her support. You can also seek support from students’ community through online forum.
The learning is much easier as compared to other options. However, on the downside, thier study material is less than our first choice.
Linkedin’s pricing closely matches Pluralshight’s pricing. Just like Pluralsight, you can either buy monthly or yearly subscriptipon to get get access to all its courses at no extra cost. Its portfolio of courses is much larger than Pluralsight.
I would recommend you to start with their free trial and evaluate the course yourself.
The pricing of Master of Project’s courses is slightly different from the above choices. You can either take monthly/annual subscription or buy their course for the lifetime. Although, the course provider is not a PMI REP, its 35 hours certificate can be used to apply for the PMP exam. If you decide to buy Master of Project Academy course, you have two options.
First option is to buy their one month subscrition. You can get it for as low as USD 53.6 for one month by applying special 20% discount coupon code that is available on this blog. However, at this price, Pluralsight/Linkedin Learning are much better options as they have a higher rating and are much cheaper.
Second option is to buy the course for lifetime. You would need 2-3 months to prepare for the exam so this option is much more suitable than one month subscription. This course is not good as the others but can be considered as its lifetime offering is very cheap. The lifetime price is extremely reasonable as compared to the other providers. The lifetime subscription is available for a limited time period offer and will expire soon.
Whizlabs provides many different types of courses. Its PMP offering provides good value for the money. The content is not as good as others’ offerings. Although the videos are not done by a native English Instructor, the accent of the trainer is not bad.
You should buy it only if you have a cost constraint.
Out of the reviewed courses, I would suggest you to buy only top-rated courses that are listed in the previous section.
The rating of following courses is pretty bad. They have ]serious shortcomings. I would not recommend you to buy them.
iZenBridge – The videos are not done by a native English Instructor. The course content has below average quality and the videos are inordinately long. The instructor repeats the same thing over and over. The videos are done by using a white board – some of the thngs are not immediatley readable. In my experience about 30 hours of video instruction is good for the exam prep. There is no point in wasting time in watching videos. Your time can be better utilized in more productive tasks.
Careeer Academy – Career Academy issues only 30 PDU certificate. It dos not give 35 contact hours certificate that is mandatory to apply for the PMP exam. Moreover, its videos content is too short to provide any real value. I suggest you to ignore this course.
ProXalt Courses – I wrote to ProXalt and requested them for course information & sample study material but they did not respond. I was able to review the course only through the information available on their website, which is not much.
Cybrary – Cybrary is not a PMI REP and it does not issue a 35 contact hours certificate. Without the certificate, you cannot appear for the PMP exam. You would ask me “Oh! It is a free course. It is not going to cost me anything”. That’s true but you would know that “time is money”. There is no point in wasting time on something that does not add value to your resume.
I believe, my recommendations would suite your needs and you can buy a course after reading this article. However, if you want to explore more, you can use the key features to review, evaluate and compare other cheap PMP training courses that are not covered in this article.
What Is An On-demand PMP Online Course?
An on-demand PMP course is the cheapest mode to attain PMP certification training. In this type of course, you get access to online study material like videos, audios, presentations, and workbooks. You can either use a PC or a mobile device with Internet access for the exam prep & study. Usually, these courses do not prescribe a study schedule. You have to study & learn on your own. A more appropriate name for these courses is self-learning course.
Should You Invest In An Online Training?
I try to give a fair and unbiased opinion on this blog and never recommend a substandard or a poor quality product. PMP certification exam is one of the toughest exams. You should not buy a poor quality exam prep product – it might lead to failing the exam. However, you can definitely buy a good quality exam prep product that is reasonably priced.
You should buy a self-learning course, if you are self-disciplined and can follow a strict study schedule for your exam prep. You can fully exploit an online course, if you have good project management experience that can help you to study & understand the subject matter on your own. But, if you do not meet this criteria, then it would be better to opt for an Instructor Led Online PMP Training.
