4 suggestions for passing the PMP exam

PMP Experience

I would like to share the experience and suggestions of Jippy who recently passed the PMP exam. She passed the exam in less than 2 months after consistent study and selflessly allowed me to share her thoughts with PMP aspirants. I wish her all the best for life ahead.

Happy to share that I cleared PMP certification yesterday.First of all I want to thank “Praveen Malik” sir for his esteemed and valuable guidance  in the workshop I had attended in Noida on 13th and 14th April 2013.

He has taught really well and it gave a lot of insight into the concepts of Project Management and gave me the confidence that I can do it in first Go.

Thank You Sir!

I always believed on the Maxim “Hard Work Pays” and it really worked for me to help me clear the certification but I have a suggestion to other aspiring candidates that it’s smart working which is required more than Hard work 🙂

I have a lot many suggestions for other aspirants to make it easy and 100 % sure shot :

1)      It requires smart preparation along with consistent studies.

2)      Go through Head First PMP nicely so that you understand the basics.

3)      Give a reading of PMP Exam Prep by Rita Mulcahy so as to have a more deep understanding of the topics.

4)      And MOST IMPORTANT :

“Do the 900 Scordo Questions(on PMI Website) well and go through the explanations in detail so that you understand the concepts well and also prepare notes wherever required(if u can’t retain easily ”

“Keep sufficient time for Mock Tests and then prepare notes for the Mock Test Questions explanations”

This is very very important to get through.

“Practice Practice scenario based Question answers. They will really/actually help.”

Prepare well . Work Hard, Practice Well. You are Done !!!!!!

Good Luck to other aspiring ones.

February 2016 Update: PMI used to have a eReads section on their website. It had wealth of knowledge material. eReads had about 1000 free sample exam questions from Christopher Scordo. These questions were considered to be the Gold Standard for the Exam. Unfortunately PMI has taken off this section after January 2016. But, if you want, you can click here to buy Christopher Scordo’s PMP Practice Exams directly from his website. Before you buy, you can also look at my article that compares 6 popular PMP exam simulators to read more about Christopher Scordo’s simulator.

  1. Hi Praveen,

Can you kindly share info on the sites where I can take practice exams/mock exams.

    Thanks and regards

  2. As with all things, there is no single way that will work best for everyone. I never once looked at Rita’s book, and I don’t know what Head First is. I took a course and read the PMBOK. That’s it. If there was something in the PMBOK that I didn’t understand fully, then I googled it to learn more, but that was pretty rare. That’s it. And I passed easily on my first try.
